Question by LoveCheeseHateJello: What is quinoa and what section of the qrocery store can I find it?
I have two recipes I want to try. One calls for 1/4 cup quinoa and the other for 1/4 cup cooked quinoa. I’ve never heard of this before.

Quinoa is a seed that is sometimes sold as a grain. It cooks exactly the same way as regular rice. It has a really nice nutty flavor. Quinoa is unique because it is one of only a few vegetable sources of all 8 amino acids, making it a powerhouse of nutrition. You can usually find it in the natural foods section by the rice and couscous stuff, or sometimes in the bulk foods section.

  1. Quinoa (IPA pronunciation (RP): ) is a species of goosefoot (Chenopodium) grown as a crop primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal as it is not a grass. Its leaves are also eaten as a leaf vegetable, much like amaranth, but the commercial availability of quinoa greens is currently limited.

I cannot buy it here either.
